Midori Valdivia Consulting LLC provides transportation & urban planning consulting as well as non-profit management and project leadership services for organizations making change in cities. From city and state agencies to communities and advocates working to avert the climate crisis, we craft policies that center equity, lead project teams to center communities, and facilitate complex policy decisions alongside changemakers.

Midori (she/her/ella), Founder + Principal, is a transportation, operations, and urban planning professional committed to building cities that center people. Midori has focused on a wide range of issues in her career including securing transit funding for transport agencies, operationalizing equity and prioritizing disability access, managing climate mitigation and supporting executives with complex financial and operational challenges at social impact organizations.

She led a career in public service holding senior roles at major transportation delivery organizations in New York City, including Chief of Staff to the Chair & CEO of the New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority, Deputy Commissioner for Finance and Administration (Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer) at the New York City Taxi & Limousine Commission, and Senior Advisor to the Executive Director at the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. She began Midori Valdivia Consulting in 2020 and she was recently Chief Operating Officer for Coro New York Leadership Center, the City’s premier leadership training organization.

Midori understands first hand how transit can unlock power and access for all. She is part of organizing efforts to increase representation of women and people of color in the sector. Midori is passionate about cultivation of leaders in the transportation and urban planning space.

Midori serves as a Trustee of the Transit Center, Board Member of the New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority, the largest transportation delivery organization in the United States, and is a Board Member of the Shared-Use Mobility Center.

She received her Masters in Public Affairs and Urban & Regional Planning from Princeton University’s School of Public and International Affairs and Bachelors of Arts in Political Science from Penn State University.
