Midori brings her decades of expertise and management to support her clients. Her transportation and urban planning practice focuses on the intersection of transportation, climate, and equity. Her non-profit practice builds on her COO and CFO experience to support executives in building sustainable organizations.

Metrolink Equity Plan

Metrolink’s Accessibility and Affordability Study, adopted by its Board of Directors in April 2021, is the first formal equity-focused study for the agency and anchors to the commitments set forth in the agency’s Strategic Business Plan. Metrolink is one of the largest commuter railroads in the United States, situated in Southern California servicing five counties. A key recommendation was for a 50% fare discount program for low-income riders, those with a household income at or below 200% of the federal poverty line.

Congestion Pricing in New York City

New York’s Metropolitan Transportation Authority worked alongside partners in the New York Governor’s Office, the State Legislature, the #FixOurTransit coalition to build a framework for congestion pricing under 60th Street in Manhattan’s Central Business District. This included coordinating with grassroots organizations, engaging in the federal environmental review process, and developing policies to support to reduce traffic, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and invest $15 billion in public transit.

Climate Change that Centers New York City Workers

Climate for Change, A Complete Climate Jobs Roadmap for NYC,  is a plan for New York City to fight the climate crisis, make NYC safer and address racial and economic inequity by investing in a pro-worker renewable energy transition. The report was based on policy research and consultations with over 60 unions, academics, policymakers, and environmental leaders that informed the development of high-impact job solutions that can achieve NYC’s climate, equity, and jobs goals.
